USA Softball (slow pitch) USA Softball slow pitch (all ages) requires a bat marked USA Softball (slowpitch). The barrel may not exceed 2.25 in. Typically ages 4-99.
2026 Official Rules of Softball, Rule 3 Sec 1: bat must bear a USA Softball certification mark, not be on the Non-Approved list, max 34 in / 38 oz / 2.250 in diameter. Uniform across age divisions. Pre-2000 wood-bat umpire-discretion exception (Rule 3 Sec 1.A.3) not modeled.
