Barrel cap: 2.625 in
High School (NFHS) High school baseball requires a bat marked BBCOR .50 or Solid one-piece wood. The barrel may not exceed 2.625 in. Typically ages 14-18.
NFHS Rule 1-3-2: non-wood bats must meet BBCOR .50; max 36 in, -3 minus factor (drop limits not modeled in v1). Wood bats allowed (NFHS permits wood up to 2-3/4 in barrel; 2.625 recorded as the non-wood cap the fitting flow checks). Current standard corroborated by NFHS's compliance notice at https://www.nfhs.org/articles/compliancy-of-the-warstic-bonesaber-3-baseball-bat/ — full current rulebook is paywalled. STALENESS FLAG: BBCOR certification is transitioning to USA Baseball administration ('USA BBCOR'), with new bats sold from fall 2026 for the 2027 season and existing BBCOR .50 stamps reportedly grandfathered through 2027-28 — REVISIT this entry (marks + notes) before the 2027 season.
